A: Please use the latest Samba package from your operating system vendor or compile it using the source from samba.org.
Q: What is the difference between the Quest Samba packages that used to be available here and Samba packages available elsewhere?
A: Other than some file paths, there were no differences. The Quest Samba packages were provided as a convenience when up-to-date Samba releases were hard to come by. Now that compatible Samba packages are readily available and widely distributed it is recommended to get the latest versions, patches and security fixes from your operating system vendor.
